Drone weather: plan an aerial photography flight

Plan drone photography with hourly weather, wind at altitude and map information. Learn which conditions to compare in Drone Forecast before heading to the site.

Choose the correct place

Open Weather and use GPS with location permission. Check the location shown at the top. Manual location selection requires Premium in the reviewed code. If you are planning a remote destination, confirm that location before interpreting the numbers.

Compare the hours

Review the hourly weather, precipitation, cloud cover and visibility. In Premium, Weather Analytics brings several trends together and displays a suggested two-hour window. Treat that suggestion as an app calculation to review alongside your own requirements.

Look above the ground

Open Wind to inspect the available altitude levels. In Settings, use a consistent speed unit and the appropriate drone profile. Do not assume the wind shown near the ground represents every height you plan to use.

Check the location and equipment

Open Map for geographic context and available zone layers. Coverage and freshness differ between map layers; a map is not an authorization. Review official restrictions and use your checklist before leaving. If the forecast cannot load, check the connection and location permission before contacting support.
