Drone preflight checks: build a practical routine

Build a drone preflight routine for weather, batteries, equipment and the takeoff area. Learn to customise, save and print the browser checklist for your flight.

Prepare before leaving

Review the weather, the planned location and current official restrictions. Gather the aircraft, controller, batteries and storage you need. Treat the browser checklist as a personal aid, not a replacement for the aircraft manual or any required operating procedure.

Inspect on arrival

Use the manufacturer’s inspection steps for the aircraft, propellers and batteries. Review the takeoff area, obstacles and people nearby. Check the actual weather rather than relying solely on the forecast you saw at home.

Make the list yours

Open the web checklist and add checks for your own operation. Each item can be marked independently. Added items can be removed. Your list and checkmarks are saved locally in this browser when storage is available; nothing is uploaded by the checklist.

Start fresh and keep a copy

Reset the checkmarks for a new preparation. This preserves your custom items. Print the list for an offline copy; browser printing includes the current checkmarks. If storage is blocked, the page explains that your changes will only last while it remains open.
